Journal:  Yizong Tongluo formula attenuates idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and inflammatory injury by inhibiting HIF-1?/LSH/SCD1-mediated ferroptosis. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 27, 2026
Molecular and histological analyzes were performed using TGF-?-treated MRC-5 fibroblast cells and a bleomycin-induced rat model of pulmonary fibrosis...These findings indicate that YZTLF mitigates IPF progression in the context of Qi deficiency and blood stasis by suppressing ferroptosis-driven inflammation and remodeling the hypoxic microenvironment via the HIF-1?/LSH/SCD1 pathway. This provides a mechanism-based rationale for its use in this TCM-defined IPF subtype.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Emergence of a Central Nervous System: A Two-Step Evolutionary Model Suggested by Sea Urchin Experiments. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 25, 2026
These findings strongly support the "neural default model" and underscore the importance of combining Wntbased anterior patterning with TGF?-signaling-mediated neural restriction in CNS centralization. Although the idea is not entirely new, the data from sea urchins provide rare experimental evidence for how ancient axial patterning systems could have cooperatively shaped the emergence of a centralized nervous system in early bilaterians.

  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Acting on dormancy: the interplay between the actin cytoskeleton and tumor cell dormancy. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 24, 2026

  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  The emerging role of decorin in pancreatic islet biology: From development to degeneration. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 29, 2026
Within the pancreatic islet microenvironment, decorin influences pancreatic islet morphogenesis and beta-cell differentiation through modulation of local matrix composition and growth factor bioavailability, while conferring protection against diabetic complications through anti-fibrotic properties that mitigate peri-islet extracellular matrix remodeling observed in progressive islet dysfunction. By synthesizing findings from developmental biology, matrix biochemistry, and diabetes research, we address this critical knowledge gap and position decorin as an underrecognized regulator of pancreatic islet biology whose multifaceted mechanisms warrant investigation to reveal therapeutic strategies for preserving beta-cell function and preventing diabetes-associated fibrotic pathology.
