  • ||||||||||  PRIMARY SJOGREN'S SYNDROME  () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3118;
    The presence of joint symptoms shortens the patient's path to the specialist rheumatologist. Multidisciplinary training of family physicians is necessary for timely diagnosis of primary Sjogren's syndrome.
  • ||||||||||  PRELIMINARY DATA ON THE PREVALENCE OF PRIMARY SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3114;
    Vaginal dryness seems to be uncommon in premenopausal women. In nearly half of the premenopausal women experiencing vaginal sicca symptoms or clinical signs of vaginal dryness, the diagnosis of Sj
  • ||||||||||  MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR INSIGHTS OF B CELL LYMPHOMA IN PATIENTS WITH SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3109;
    Digital cytometry identified differences between immune cell populations within the blood samples. Further investigation is needed to expand our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that contribute to B-cell lymphoma.
  • ||||||||||  KLRB1 EXPRESSION SIGNIFIES CD4+ T CELL ACTIVATION AND IS HEIGHTENED IN PRIMARY SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3105;
    Automated quantitative assays, CLIA and MBI, are potential alternatives to LIA in the detection of anti-Ro and anti-La antibodies in patients with pSS. KLRB1 serves as a distinctive marker of CD4+ T cell activation phenotype, and its heightened expression within CD4+ T cells of pSS patients implies its potential role in pSS pathogenesis and its potential as a supplementary diagnostic indicator for pSS.
  • ||||||||||  KIDNEY INVOLVEMENT AND PROGRESSION IN PATIENTS WITH SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS AND ISOLATED SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3104;
    This preliminary study also highlights slight differences in renal involvement and its progression between the two groups considered. In SSc patients, creatinine levels at T0 are, on average, lower than in pSS patients possibly linked to their reduced muscle mass.
  • ||||||||||  INVESTIGATING PERIPHERAL MICROCIRCULATION IN JUVENILE SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3103;
    The reduction of capillary density, as well as microhaemorrhages at NVC analysis, are significantly associated with some clinical aspects like articular involvement and serum biomarkers (C3 reduction). The NVC is suggested as safe and further analysis in jSjS patients.

    IL-1 PATHWAY IN SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3102;
    at ductal epithelial cell level is quite interesting and worth of further investigation. In addition, the indirect evidence of an alteration in homeostasis and activation of SGECs following inhibition of IL-1 pathways, might suggest a role of this molecule in two of the major pathogenic mechanisms driving the development of an autoimmune epithelitis.
  • ||||||||||  HOW DOES EXERCISE AFFECT DISEASE SCORES, SLEEP, DEPRESSION AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN PRIMARY SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3100;
    Perhaps the reason why the relationships between exercise levels and disease activity and fatigue are not significant is because people do not know how to exercise properly. We think it is very important that patients do enough of the right kind of exercise and that they are educated about it.
  • ||||||||||  HOMOCYSTEINE AND CAROTID INTIMA-MEDIA THICKNESS IN PRIMARY SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3099;
    Patients with pSS have a higher risk for the development of subclinical atherosclerosis, as indicated by a higher value of CIMT and significant relationship between CIMT and Hcy. The results of this study suggest that routine assessment of plasma Hcy levels and measurement of CIMT would be useful to identify individuals with higher risk of accelerated atherosclerosis in patients with pSS.
  • ||||||||||  EXAMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NEUROCOGNITIVE MANIFESTATIONS AND SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3095;
    Out of the neurocognitive tests performed, DSST may be best in assessing physical and mental fatigue. DSST is commonly used in assessing cognitive function in other patients, and this result suggests that it may add value to the assessment of fatigue in patients with SJD.
  • ||||||||||  DYSREGULATION OF TREG CELLS IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY SJOGREN'S SYNDROME () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3094;
    DSST is commonly used in assessing cognitive function in other patients, and this result suggests that it may add value to the assessment of fatigue in patients with SJD. These findings implied that Tregs in pSjS exhibit a more significant dysregulation than HCs and may contribute the pathogenesis.
  • ||||||||||  DIAGNOSTIC PROTEIN BIOMARKERS IN SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3093;
    SS and MGSB+ groups of patients showed significant higher levels of ICAM1 in saliva compared to the control group. The analysis of this protein in saliva could be useful for the early diagnosis of SS patients.
  • ||||||||||  DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMANCE OF MAJOR SALIVARY GLAND ULTRASOUND FOR DIAGNOSIS OF SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3092;
    The analysis of this protein in saliva could be useful for the early diagnosis of SS patients. In our routine clinical practice, the diagnostic performance of SGU is good, superior to sialometry, although the latter is included in the ACR/EULAR criteria for SS and the SGU not.
  • ||||||||||  CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM INVOLVEMENT IN PRIMARY SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3084;
    CNS involvement in pSS is rare and reported in small numbers because it can be seen in different patterns and resembles variable neurological clinical pictures. In order to better determine treatment response, options, and prognosis, studies with a larger patient group and collaboration between neurology and rheumatology for patient follow-up are needed.
  • ||||||||||  CANCER FREQUENCY IN CLOSE RELATIVES OF PATIENTS WITH SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3083;
    No study was found in the literature that investigated the incidence of cancer in close relatives of SjS patients. There is a need for larger population-based studies on this topic to clarify this association.
  • ||||||||||  ANTICENTROMERE ANTIBODIES IN THE SETTING OF SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3076;
    However, when compared to SSc patients, ACA+ pSS patients display a less severe vascular profile, resulting in an intermediate clinical phenotype between limited cutaneous scleroderma and pSS. ACA presence in pSS patients may play a pivotal role in clinical features across disease settings.
  • ||||||||||  ANTI-RO52 AUTOANTIBODIES PREDICT SJ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3075;
    Furthermore, we observed a correlation between increased IgG (>15mg/ml), SS and dry mouth and having anti-Ro52. Stratification of SS patients shows that they drive the correlation, but as the risk between dry mouth and anti-ro52 remains, we argue that some SS patients are undiagnosed in the PBC cohort.
  • ||||||||||  ANALYSIS OF THE PROTEOME IN MINOR SALIVARY GLANDS FROM SJOEGREN'S SYNDROME PATIENTS () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3074;
    The total number of proteins identified in our analysis exceeds that of previous studies and allows us to provide the first list of differentially expressed proteins in MSG tissues in SjS and controls that correlate with SjS-relevant measures. Our results indicate that MSG tissues from patients with different levels of lymphocyte infiltration and salivary gland dysfunction differ in the protein expression profiles.
  • ||||||||||  A RANDOMIZED DOUBLE-BLIND PLACEBO-CONTROLLED CLINICAL TRIAL OF FISH OIL (OMEGA 3) IN SJOGREN'S SYNDROME PATIENTS IN ERBIL-IRAQ () -  May 29, 2024 - Abstract #EULAR2024EULAR_3071;
    P2/3
    Omega 3 was effective in improving Dry mouth symptoms, dry eye symptoms especially (itching, mucous discharge & photophobia) of Sjogren's syndrome patients, and Sialometry test was significantly improved and normalized in Omega 3 treated group in comparison to Placebo Group. The Schirmer test improved significantly during last visit in comparison to baseline in both groups, but it was slightly better in Omega 3 compared to placebo group, without significant differences.
  • ||||||||||  Olumiant (baricitinib) / Eli Lilly

    P2,  N=90, Active, not recruiting,
    Although it was a limitation that only 2019 data was used, but still smoking was a risk factor for recurrent admissions and readmissions was least in patients who had highest income bracket. Recruiting --> Active, not recruiting
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Case 325: Persistent Craniopharyngeal Canal. (Pubmed Central) -  May 28, 2024
    The patient received fluconazole, ceftriaxone, vancomycin, and metronidazole. Follow-up MRI was performed after 2 weeks.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Clinical importance of anti-Ro52 antibody for polymyositis and dermatomyositis. (Pubmed Central) -  May 28, 2024
    Anti-Ro52 Ab were frequently positive in PM/DM and anti-Ro52 Ab-positive patients showed significantly higher rates of anti-ARS Ab positivity and ILD, GC-resistant cardiomyopathy, concomitant use of immunosuppressants, and higher levels of CRP. Anti-Ro52 Ab may be useful as a severity marker in PM/DM.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Predicting the risk of primary Sj (Pubmed Central) -  May 28, 2024
    m7G regulators play an important role in the development of PSS. Our study of m7G-realted genes may inform future immunotherapy strategies for PSS.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Interstitial lung disease and associated factors in patients with Sj (Pubmed Central) -  May 26, 2024
    This may be related to older age, higher smoking rate, and longer nicotine consumption in men. Age, smoking, and severity of lung involvement are more important than inflammation status and autoantibodies for prognosis.
