  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Fat malabsorption in pancreatic cancer: Pathophysiology and management. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 6, 2024
    Medical nutrition therapies may also be applicable and may include fat-soluble vitamin replacement, medium-chain triglycerides, and, in some cases, enteral nutrition. Optimizing nutrition status is an important adjunct treatment approach to improve quality of life and may also improve overall survival.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Sarcopenia and Hip Fractures. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 6, 2024
    Future research should examine multi-component BC interventions encompassing the five most effective TDF domains. No abstract available
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  3D Topographical Scanning for the Detection of Osteoporosis. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 6, 2024
    Mobile device-based 3D scanning may hold promise as an adjunct screening tool for osteoporosis when DEXA scanning is not available or feasible for patients, although further studies are needed to elucidate the full potential of its clinical utility. At a minimum, identifying a patient as high risk may promote earlier diagnostic DEXA scanning.
  • ||||||||||  Retrospective data, Journal, Surgery:  Impact of Frailty in Patients Undergoing Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Surgery. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 6, 2024
    Contrary to other cardiac operations, for patients undergoing isolated minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, sarcopenia was not associated with increased perioperative risk except for higher readmission rates. Minimally invasive surgical approaches should be strongly considered as the approach of choice in frail patients.

    Cirrhosis Care: Emerging Changes () -  Mar 5, 2024 - Abstract #APASL2024APASL_3083;
    The patients with cirrhosis and MELD score ? 15 should be evaluated for liver transplantation.
  • ||||||||||  NAFLD/NASH and sarcopenia - usefulness of nutritional and exercise therapy - () -  Mar 5, 2024 - Abstract #APASL2024APASL_2999;
    In cirrhosis resulting from NASH, the progression of fibrosis and the dynamics of amino acids, including BCAA, should be evaluated and BCAA replacement therapy should be considered. In conclusion, it is critical to develop safe and appropriate liver rehabilitation to improve the prognosis and quality of life of NAFLD/NASH patients with sarcopenia.
  • ||||||||||  Etiology and Usefulness of MAFLD in the Asian-Pacific region () -  Mar 5, 2024 - Abstract #APASL2024APASL_2970;
    In this session, I will introduce the etiology of Asian-Pacific MAFLD according to the APASL guidelines. I also mention the impact of MAFLD on the identification of patients at risk of hepatic events as well as extra-hepatic events in the Asia

    I also mention the impact of MAFLD on the identification of patients at risk of hepatic events as well as extra-hepatic events in the Asia Recruiting --> Completed
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Fat infiltration in skeletal muscle: Influential triggers and regulatory mechanism. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 4, 2024
    Furthermore, we reviewed the molecular regulatory mechanism, detection methods, and intervention strategies of fat infiltration in skeletal muscle. Based on the current findings, our review will provide new insight into regulating function and lipid metabolism of skeletal muscle and treating muscle-related diseases.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Sarcopenia and poor nutritional status in older adults. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 4, 2024
    Novel ASM equations offer a simple method for predicting skeletal muscle mass and can provide valuable prognostic information regarding patients with nondialysis CKD. In this study, the prevalence of sarcopenia ranged from 12.6 to 44.9
