  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Early adversity and the comorbidity between metabolic disease and psychopathology. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
We will review molecular and clinical evidence supporting the notion that early adversity is an important risk factor for the comorbidity between metabolic and psychiatric conditions. We will also discuss the possible mechanisms involved: neurometabolic programming, epigenetic alterations and the cumulative effects of altered inflammatory and oxidative pathways linked to early adversity.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Psychopharmacological interventions among people who use Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) - a scoping review. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
However, this observation should be interpreted cautiously, as current evidence remains limited and further research is warranted to establish treatment patterns more conclusively. The variability in study designs and reporting standards further highlights the need for standardized methodologies and improved adherence to reporting guidelines to enhance the quality and applicability of future research.

This paper explores ethical issues in psychiatric genomic research, clinical applications, and prevention efforts, emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach and the importance of context sensitivity, particularly in low-and-middle-income countries.
  • ||||||||||  Preclinical, Journal, Metabolomic study:  Antidepressant effect of Radix bupleuri - Radix paeoniae alba herb pair on chronic unpredictable mild stress rats based on cortical metabolomics. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
This paper explores ethical issues in psychiatric genomic research, clinical applications, and prevention efforts, emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach and the importance of context sensitivity, particularly in low-and-middle-income countries. BR-PRA herb-pair alleviated depressive-like behavior in CUMS rats, recovered hippocampus damage, and regulated cerebral cortex metabolism, which may be related to the HPA axis, amino acid metabolism related to lysine and glutamate, and modulation of oxidative stress.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Townes-Brocks syndrome: genotype-phenotype correlations of SALL1 variants in our series and the literature. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
A significant increase in deafness, dysplastic ear, and thumb malformations and a significant decrease in renal failure were observed in the individuals carrying a variant located downstream of the region, but the patients were significantly younger. Future studies should aim to elucidate the complex pathophysiological mechanisms and prognosis of TBS, functionally and prospectively.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Psychiatric Comorbidities in Pediatric Restless Leg Syndrome. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
Both neurobiologic mechanisms and clinical implication could explain the several comorbidities. In clinical practice, pediatric RLS patients should be evaluated for the presence of psychiatric disorders to tailor multidisciplinary intervention and integrated treatment.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Genomics of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: What the Clinician Needs to Know. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
Communication of genetic knowledge in meetings with patients and their relatives and common misconceptions are addressed. The importance of recognizing genetic syndromes masquerading as ADHD or other common psychiatric disorders is emphasized and how genetic information can be used to improve diagnosis and therapy are discussed.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Genetics of Anorexia Nervosa: Translation to Future Personalized Therapies. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
Genetic studies are clarifying the etiology of AN, with the goal of eventually informing the development of innovative personalized pharmacologic, nutritional, microbial, and behavioral interventions. We present the current state of genome-wide and epigenome-wide association studies, gut microbiome research, and functional genomics investigations and discuss translating this knowledge into clinical practice.
  • ||||||||||  Preclinical, Journal:  Neurobehavioral and neurochemical alterations in female mice following pregestational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 lysate protein. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
These findings highlight long-term neurochemical and behavioral disruptions following environmentally relevant exposure to SARS-CoV-2 lysate protein, which could compromise neurophysiological homeostasis, stress regulation, and maternal investment in non-target mammals. In natural environments, such alterations may reduce individual fitness and population resilience, emphasizing the need to further investigate the ecotoxicological consequences of viral pollutants on terrestrial organisms.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Adrenal gland volume measurement in depressed patients. (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
AGV is not increased in the well-selected cohort of depressed patients in this study, which contrasts with some previous reports in literature. Further multi-centric studies are required to identify potentially influencing factors such as attempted suicide.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Multidimensional outcomes associated with chronic fatigue over 12 (Pubmed Central) -  May 11, 2025
While there were no sex differences in the rates of chronic fatigue, there were some sex differences in the factors associated with it. Systematic screening and early intervention for chronic fatigue, considering sex-specific factors, may improve multidimensional outcomes in youth with emerging mood disorders.
  • ||||||||||  Preclinical, Journal:  Effect of ponatinib on the metabolism of cariprazine in vitro and in vivo and the underlying mechanism. (Pubmed Central) -  May 10, 2025
Molecular docking studies had demonstrated that both cariprazine and ponatinib could engage in hydrophobic interactions with residue PHE-304 on CYP3A4. Consequently, when ponatinib is employed in conjunction with cariprazine in a clinical setting, it is imperative to assess the efficacy and adverse effects, and adjust the dosage to attain the optimal efficacy.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  HIV Prevention Behaviors among LGBTQ+?Adolescents: the Protective Role of LGBTQ+-Inclusive School Resources. (Pubmed Central) -  May 10, 2025
Gay or queer cisgender boys were consistently in the highest prevalence HIV prevention behavior groups, whereas youth who self-reported they were bisexual/pansexual, asexual, sexual identity questioning, straight or a sexual identity not listed, especially those who lacked LGBTQ+-inclusive school resources, were overrepresented in the low prevalence groups. LGBTQ+-inclusive school resources are important sources of HIV prevention information and may mitigate some HIV-related disparities.
