Review, Journal: Receptor Tyrosine Kinases in Osteosarcoma Treatment: Which Is the Key Target? (Pubmed Central) - Sep 30, 2020 We found that TKIs with promising therapeutic effect for osteosarcoma include apatinib, cabozantinib, lenvatinib, regorafenib, and sorafenib...It is necessary to inhibit several relevant RTKs simultaneously to achieve a breakthrough in osteosarcoma treatment. This review provides comprehensive information on TKI targets relevant in osteosarcoma treatment, and it will be useful for further research in this field.

Journal: Supramolecular Engineering of Molecular Inhibitors in an Adaptive Cytotoxic Nanoparticle for Synergistic Cancer Therapy. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 27, 2020 In this study, we developed a simple and broadly applicable strategy in which ultrastable cytotoxic nanoparticles with an established excellent antitumor efficacy and π-rich inner core structure supramolecularly stabilized the antiangiogenic molecular inhibitor apatinib to create a synergistic drug delivery system (termed sTKI-pSN38)...Interestingly, sTKI-pSN38 treatment alleviated intratumoral hypoxia, which could contribute to impaired tumor metastasis and reduced drug resistance. Collectively, this nanotherapeutic platform offers a new strategy for cancer therapy by simply engineering a drug cocktail in conventional nanoparticles and by enabling the spatiotemporal modulation of drug release to enhance the synergy of the combined drugs.

Clinical, Journal: Antiangiogenic therapy for Wilms tumor in an adult and literature review. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 24, 2020 Here, we report a case of Wilms tumor in a 24-year-old woman who was effectively treated with apatinib, a small-molecule inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2...Starting with this case, we reviewed the features of Wilms tumors in adults and its treatment with antiangiogenic therapy. The information in this review could provide a novel approach to treating adults with Wilms tumors.

[VIRTUAL] TREATMENT RELATED ADVERSE EVENTS PREDICT BETTER PROGRESSION FREE SURVIVAL FOR HCC UNDERWENT ANTI-PD-1 THERAPY () - Sep 24, 2020 - Abstract #ILCA2020ILCA_217; TRAEs that occurred in more than 10% of patients were reactive capillary hemangiomas in 15 patients (88.2% in patients received Camrelizumab, while 32.6% in all patients), liver dysfunction in 15(32.6%) patients, thyroid dysfunction in 9(19.6%) patients, rash in 6(13%) patients, amylase increase in 5(10.9%) patients, hemocytopenia in 5(10.9%) patients... Treatment related adverse events and vascular invasion were independent prognostic factors for PFS in HCC underwent anti-PD-1 therapy.

Clinical, Journal: Apatinib versus sorafenib in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: a preliminary study. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 23, 2020 The most common any-grade adverse events in the apatinib and sorafenib groups were hand and foot syndrome (53.8% vs. 50%), hypertension (50% vs. 19.6%), diarrhea (34.6% vs. 28.3%), and elevated transaminase (57.7% vs. 63%). Compared with sorafenib, apatinib yielded comparable PFS and OS, and even better ORR, in patients with advanced HCC.

Clinical, Journal: Apatinib, combined with chemotherapy or alone is effective in treating angiosarcoma: a case report. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 21, 2020 The progression-free survival of the primary lesion with KRAS V14I and RBM10 E119D mutations (10 months) was shorter than that of the brain without the mutation ( ≥ 12 months). Although it is not clear whether the KRAS V14I and RBM10 E119D mutations are the main factors that impact the effect of apatinib treatment or not, the results of this study will provide valuable clues for relevant follow-up basic and clinical studies.

Clinical, Journal, Combination therapy, Monotherapy: Apatinib monotherapy or combination therapy for non-small cell lung cancer patients with brain metastases. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 21, 2020 Treatment-related toxicities were tolerable including grade 1/2 hypertension, hand and foot syndrome, fatigue, nausea, liver dysfunction, myelosuppression, skin rash and palpitation. In conclusion, apatinib exhibited highly activity and good tolerance for NSCLC patients with brain metastasis and it might become a potential choice for metastatic brain tumors in NSCLC patients.
