Journal: Raltitrexed Enhances the Antitumor Effect of Apatinib in Human Esophageal Squamous Carcinoma Cells via Akt and Erk Pathways. (Pubmed Central) - Dec 10, 2020 Western blot analysis showed that phosphorylation levels of Erk, Akt, and invasiveness-associated protein matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) were decreased in the combination group. Taken together, these results indicate that raltitrexed enhances the antitumor effects of apatinib on human ESCC cells by down-regulating phosphorylation of Akt and Erk, implying a combination of raltitrexed and apatinib might be an effective option for treating esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients.

() - Dec 9, 2020 - Abstract #ASCOGI2021ASCO_GI_222; Eligible patients were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive SHR-1210 (200mg, q2w) and apatinib (250mg, q.d.) for 12 cycles, or two times of standard HAI treatments (epirubicin 80-100mg or epirubicin 50mg+oxaliplatin 50mg). In HCC patients with high risk of recurrence after radical resection, SHR-1210 combined with apatinib was tolerable, and might offer a new promising choice superior to HAI for adjuvant therapy in HCC, further study is needed to reach the pre-defined primary endpoint.

[VIRTUAL] Camrelizumab in combination with preoperative chemotherapy for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: A single-arm, open-label, phase II study. () - Dec 9, 2020 - Abstract #ASCOGI2021ASCO_GI_180; P2 26 patients (pts) with histologically confirmed stage ?/?/?a (cT2-4aN0-3M0) ESCC were enrolled from February 2020 to September 2020.The study was divided into two stages, stage1: we administered 1 cycle of Camrelizumab for induction therapy (200 mg q2 weeks); stage2: pts received 2 cycles of Camrelizumab (200 mg every 3 weeks) plus docetaxel and nedaplatin, followed by surgery within 4~6 weeks after neoadjuvant therapy completion. Camrelizumab in combination with preoperative chemotherapy followed by surgery for locally advanced ESCC showed promising downstaging effect and MPR with good tolerance, and its efficacy and safety could be further studied in later trials.

(Pubmed Central) - Nov 28, 2020 In the HCCC-9810 and GBC-SD human BTC cell lines, combined treatment with IH and FZ with synergetic radiation significantly inhibited cell proliferation, redistributed the cell cycle, enhanced apoptosis and delayed DNA damage repair by suppressing activation of the EGFR signaling pathway and attenuating expression of the homologous recombination (HR) protein RAD51. This study demonstrates that combined treatment with IH and FZ may be an applicable therapy to enhance the radiosensitivity of BTCs and that RAD51 may serve as a biomarker for this combination treatment.
